On my walk with the dog today, I did a new thing – I actually looked in the two neighborhood lending libraries. I borrowed a book from the one that looks a bit more official. It has a charter number with littlefreelibrary.org and had a better selection than the first one I peeked in. The website describes this box as, “…a take a book, return a book gathering place” where neighbors share favorite books. I borrowed The Brooklyn Follies by Paul Auster. I finished a novel yesterday so it was perfect timing for this new thing!
I enjoyed the novel about life and relationships with unexpected twists and turns. The main character is male so I don’t consider this a “chick” novel and would recommend it for any reader. I returned the novel along with one of my favorites, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Annie Barrows and Mary Ann Shaffer. Now the Little Free Library is another thing to love about my neighborhood!
