My next “new thing” is discovered during our family vacation in Florida. We’ve been going to the Florida panhandle for about 15 years and have never visited the Pensacola lighthouse. The lighthouse is on the Naval Air Base and we’ve been to the Museum several times so I’m not sure why we never visited the lighthouse.
There is something so picturesque about lighthouses, even on a cloudy day. We walk through the museum to see and read history about the families who used to live in the lighthouse. Then we climb the stairs to the top. The Pensacola lighthouse is still a working site so it is cool to see the lense turning around to light the top. This visit is a rainy day activity so we need to return on a sunny day when we can enjoy the view with better visibility.
